Autotrophs.
Chemosynthetic Bacteria- they use sulfur compounds to produce organic material through the process of chemosynthesis which makes them be able to oxidize the hydrogen sulfide in the vent water which is utilized to produce organic material by obtaining the energy in the water. This therefore makes them the primary producers as all vent animals ultimately need the bacteria for food.
